Awards for Nothing Personal at Locarno
Six Awards for Nothing Personal at Locarno Film Festival
Nothing Personal by Urszula Antoniak was honoured with as many as six awards at the 62nd Locarno Film Festival. Besides the Leopard for Best Actress for Dutch Lotte Verbeek and the Leopard for the Best First Feature the film received the First Prize of the Youth Jury, the FIPRESCI Prize and CICAE Price of the International Art & Essay Cinema Confederation. Furthermore the Ecumenical Jury honoured Nothing Personal with a special mention.
Already ahead of the award ceremony in Locarno Bavaria Film International was able to announce the first sales of the film: Filmcoopi sealed an all-rights deal for Switzerland.
Nothing Personal tells the story about a young travelling woman and a older educated, solitary man who close a deal: food in exchange of work. But there is one condition: no personal contact, no questions. Who will be the first one to break the deal?
Nothing Personal is Urszula Antoniak's feature film debut, featuring the internationally acknowledged actor and Neil Jordan regular, Stephen Rea (The Crying Game) and a stunning performance by Lotte Verbeek. The film is an English-speaking Dutch-Irish co-production led by Amsterdam-based Rinkel Film in cooperation with VPRO, Fastnet Films and Family Affair Films and was shot in Ireland, Holland and Spain.
