The Dutch feature film DUSK by Hanro Smitsman is selected for the Zabaltegi-New Directors Competition of the San Sebastian International Film Festival. In this competition fifteen new talents will present their first or second feature film, competing for an award of € 90.000,-. DUSK will have its world premiere in San Sebastian. The festival will take place from September 17 - 25, 2010.
DUSK is the second feature film by the director of SKIN which was selected for many international film festivals. DUSK is showing a haunting search to discover why fifteen-year old Jessie is murdered by her closest friends. A story of jealousy, insecurity and peer pressure gradually unfolds. In 2007 Hanro Smitsman received a Golden Bear at the film festival in Berlin for his short film CONTACT.
DUSK is produced by Corrino Entertainment in co-production with Lemming Film and VARA tv and is released in the Netherlands by Independent Films.
