Dutch student films successful in France

Dutch student films successful in France at Premiers Plan Film Festival

The film festival Premiers Plan in Angers, France, selected as many as six students film productions from the Netherlands. Premiers Plan especially spotlights young European filmmakers and has become an important platform for filmmakers to show their first film productions. The festival takes place from January 22 – 31, 2010.

From the Netherlands Film and Television Academy (NFTA) three graduation films are participating in the student film competition (Competition des films d'école): BINGO by Timur Ismailov, STAY, AWAY by Paloma Aguilera Valdebenito and WES by directed Peter Hoogenboom. The programme ‘Figures libres’ shows the short documentary TIME WITHIN TIME by Menno Otten, which is a NFTA production as well.

The animated shorts FORGOTTEN BIRDS by Linde Faas and NOTEBOOK by Evelien Löhbeck are selected for ‘Plans animés’, the animated film programme in Angers. Both films are graduation productions of the Academy St. Joost in Breda.

Finally, the fascinating animated short film RED-END AND THE SEEMINGLY SYMBIOTIC SOCIETY by Robin Noorda and Bethany Forest, produced by Rocketta Film, is selected to participate in the competition program of European short films ‘Competition courts métrages des Européens’.
