EEP! selected for Berlin 2010
Dutch feature film EEP! (IEP!) is selected for the 60th edition of the Berlin International Film Festival. EEP! will take part in Berlin’s Generation Kplus programme, the competition programme for youth films. EEP! will have its world premiere in Berlin and will compete for a Glass Bear, the prize for best international youth film. The Berlinale’s 60th edition will take place from February 11 – 21, 2010.
EEP! tells the story of Viegeltje, a girl with wings instead of arms. Bird watcher Warre finds Viegeltje and takes her home. Together with his wife Tine he decides to keep her. But Viegeltje is no ordinary girl and wants to fly to the south like all the other birds. It will be a long and adventurous journey.
EEP! is based on the much acclaimed children's novel IEP! by Joke van Leeuwen. The screenplay is written by Mieke de Jong (WINTER IN WARTIME).
EEP! is a Dutch-Belgian co-production of Lemming Film in collaboration with A Private View and Dutch broadcaster NPS. EEP! will be released theatrically in the Netherlands from February 17, 2010 by Independent Films.
