Missing wins Berlin-Brandenburg Short Award

The short film Missing by Dutch director Jochem de Vries won the Berlin-Brandenburg Award during the International Short Film Festival Interfilm in Berlin. The festival took place from November 9 – 14, 2009.

Missing was part of the programme ‘Family Affairs; Fate, Faults and Family’. In this 11 minute short a mother takes her seven year old daughter to school on the day of a school excursion. But this task proves more difficult than first thought.

Earlier this year, Missing competed for a Golden Palm in the international short film competition of the Cannes International Film Festival, while De Vries’ documentary short Trans-Siberian Voices was selected to screen during the ‘Semaine de la Critique’.

Jochem de Vries is currently working on a feature film project called Cornea.
