Platinum Film Award for Anubis
Platinum Film Award for ANUBIS EN DE WRAAK VAN ARGHUS
Dutch-Belgian co-production ANUBIS EN DE WRAAK VAN ARGHUS (ANUBIS AND THE REVENGE OF ARGHUS) by director Dennis Bots has reached the status of Platinum Film. Within more than one week after its theatrical release on December 16, 2009, ANUBIS EN DE WRAAK VAN ARGHUS received a Golden Film Award for more than 100.000 tickets sold. For the Platinum Film Award the film has sold more than 400.000 tickets.
The Golden, Platinum and Diamond Film Awards are an initiative presented by the Netherlands Film Festival and the Netherlands Film Fund since 2001. The prizes are intended to encourage the Dutch film industry and motivate the general public to go and see Dutch films. The total number of tickets sold after a film's release determines whether a prize is awarded. A Diamond Film is awarded to Dutch feature films that sell more than 1.000.000 movie tickets.
Director Dennis Bots previously directed the film ANUBIS AND THE PATH OF THE 7 SINS, which reached the Platinum Film status as well. Both ‘ANUBIS’ films are based on the successful youth series ‘The House of Anubis’. In ANUBIS EN DE WRAAK VAN ARGHUS the Anubis residents have to deal with a haunted house. Appie thinks that the house is inhabited by a vampire and is determined to find the monster.
ANUBIS EN DE WRAAK VAN ARGHUS is a production of Studio 100 in collaboration with Nickelodeon. Independent Films handles theatrical distribution in the Netherlands.
